Getting around
The more than 2 million passengers who pass through Colorado Springs Airport (COS) each year know it's one of the easiest, quickest and most stress-free airports to get in or out of. The airport is served by eight airlines with non-stop service to 11 U.S. cities and convenient connecting flights. It handles around 106 arrivals and departures per day.
- Mountain Metropolitan Transit fixed route service access to the greater Colorado Springs community via a variety of route and fare options.
- Metro Rides alternative commuting assistance such as carpool matching, schoolpools and vanpools. In addition, they promote bicycle commuting throughout Bike Month and assist bicycle commuters with bike lockers and resources.
- FrontRange Express (FREX) daily commuter bus service to and from Colorado Springs, Monument, Castle Rock and Denver.
- Ute Pass Express daily commuter bus service along Hwy 24 to and from Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cascade, Green Mountain Falls and Woodland Park.
- Metro Mobility, an ADA paratransit service, for individuals unable to use Mountain Metro due to a disability.
Parking in Downtown and Old Colorado City is easy and inexpensive at three parking garages, two parking lots and 2,360 on-street metered parking spaces managed by the City.
City Services
The Colorado Springs Police Department allows you to report a parking violation, code enforcement issue, report a minor traffic accident, suspicious activity, explore law enforcement career information, research community issues/education opportunities and learn about volunteer opportunities on-line. The Colorado Springs Fire Department offers safety and preparedness education opportunities for all ages.
The Street Division manages snow and ice control, pothole repairs, road resurfacing, drainage maintenance and concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter and pedestrian ramp repairs. The Engineering Division can assist with road and stormwater construction projects, traffic control signals and signs, sidewalk snow removal complaints and bridge maintenance.
Public Communications can help citizens and members of the media access important local information via SpringsTV, CityWire, news items, AskCity requests, speaker requests, Community Action Meetings and Colorado Open Records Act requests.
The Colorado Springs Forestry Division manages our urban forest in a healthy, safe, and sustainable state. Call the Forestry Division to find out about planting permits for tree planting in public parkway, New Home Tree Certificates and to report tree-related emergencies in public right-of-way.
